Recently, this philosophy came alive through the community effort of the Great Ocean Road Clean Up Day! On Sunday, 12 April 2026, volunteers braved the elements to tackle one of the most iconic stretches of coastline, proving that when we work together, we can make a tangible difference.
The Impact of Community Action
This year’s event brought together families, retirees, students, and local business owners from across Torquay, Anglesea, and Geelong. Together, they didn’t just clear rubbish; they actively protected the marine environment and the natural beauty of the coastline.
Volunteers successfully hauled out 8–10 full bags of debris, including road signage, discarded car parts, bottles, cardboard, and foam. This effort is a powerful reminder that small, collective actions lead to massive environmental impact.
A Lesson in Responsibility
The wild weather only added to the spirit of the day. As E3 Products founder Carlo Lowdon says, “We want to look after our tourist regions so that our grandkids, and their kids, can visit our great destinations.” Participating in clean-ups is a tangible expression of this commitment: it’s how we actively protect the Great Ocean Road’s marine environment and natural beauty.
